A digital-first insurance carrier is expanding the engineering team building its claims-intake microservices platform. This role is a hands-on Java Developer position working primarily in Spring Boot, with services deployed on Kubernetes and communicating over Kafka.

You'll build and own services end to end, including unit and integration test coverage, and participate in a two-week sprint cadence with a distributed team split between New York and a nearshore development partner. Code review and mentoring of two junior developers is part of the role.

5+ years professional Java development, 2+ years with Spring Boot specifically
Experience with Kafka or another message-broker technology
Comfort working in a microservices architecture with Kubernetes deployments
